Terms of Service

The agreement between you and CompeteIQ for use of our pricing automation. By creating an account you accept these terms.

Acceptance & scope

These Terms of Service govern your use of CompeteIQ, a software-as-a-service platform for rules-based repricing of seller inventory on Amazon and eBay. The agreement is between you (the account holder) and CompeteIQ. Creating an account or using the service constitutes assent to these terms.

The service

What CompeteIQ delivers

CompeteIQ reads competitor pricing on Amazon and eBay, evaluates your repricing rules against margin floors and Buy-Box targets, and writes updated prices back to your SKUs through authorized marketplace APIs. We do not guarantee any specific uptime, ranking, or revenue outcome; results depend on your catalog, your rules, and the upstream marketplaces.

Marketplace data usage

Scopes, tokens, and storage

When you link a marketplace we request the minimum scopes required to operate:

  • Amazon SP-API — pricing, catalog, and orders. We do not request payment, payout, or finance scopes.
  • eBay OAuth — inventory and pricing. We do not request payment or payout scopes.

Marketplace OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and refreshed automatically on expiry. Tokens are discarded when you select Disconnect. CompeteIQ never moves money on your behalf and never receives payment or payout scope from any marketplace.

Subscription, billing & cancellation

Stripe-managed billing

Subscriptions are purchased via Stripe payment links generated for your account. Stripe is the merchant of record — we hold billing relationships through Stripe and never see full card numbers. We offer three plans — Starter, Growth, and Pro — billed monthly or annually per the default of the tier you select. Yearly plans are paid up front.

Cancellation. There is no in-app cancel button. To cancel your subscription, open the Stripe customer portal from the link under Dashboard → Settings → Billing, or email us and we will process it manually before the next renewal. There are no prorated refunds for partial billing periods; full refunds are issued only where required by law.

Material changes. We notify active customers by email at least 14 days before any material change takes effect, with a summary of the change and the right to cancel before the effective date.

Your responsibilities

Credentials, prices, and marketplace terms

You are responsible for keeping your marketplace credentials and account password secure. You own every pricing decision your rules produce — review your rules regularly. You are responsible for complying with the seller terms of each marketplace where you operate. CompeteIQ is a tool; the prices and the strategy are yours.

Repricing automation scope

An outbound operator on your SKUs

RepriceIQ is an outbound operator acting only on SKUs you connect to CompeteIQ. It is not a marketplace-injected command — we read competitor prices through authorized APIs and propose or write prices under your rules. Pausing or disabling a rule stops new price changes for that rule. Previously written prices remain on the marketplace until you change them yourself.

We surface a full audit trail: pricing snapshots, rule evaluations, and reprice-run history are available in the dashboard.

Liability

What we do and do not cover

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total cumulative liability for direct damages is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption. We are not liable for upstream marketplace outages, API rate limits, suspensions, or any force-majeure event beyond our reasonable control.

Termination

How either side can end the agreement

We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these terms with reasonable notice where practicable. You may terminate at any time per the cancellation section above. Upon termination, your account is closed, your marketplace tokens are discarded, and your pricing data is retained per our Privacy Policy.

Governing law & contact

Jurisdiction and how to reach us

These terms are a draft pending final counsel review. Material updates will be posted to this page with a new "Last updated" date, and active customers will receive an email notice at least 14 days in advance.
